My journey in healthcare began in the 1990s when I worked as a CNA with Maxim Healthcare. Those early years reinforced my calling to serve senior communities and ultimately inspired me to pursue nursing.
As a BSN-registered nurse, I have had the privilege of serving seniors in geriatric units for several years and have developed a deep appreciation for their sincerity, wisdom, and resilience. During my time in nursing school, I had the privilege to work at Duke, the Veterans Affairs, UNC Chapel Hill, WakeMed, and Rex hospitals, gaining valuable experience in geriatrics, hospice, oncology, and mental health units. These experiences provided me with a well-rounded foundation in patient-centered care.
